Kholat Download is an adventure game kept in the convention of horror. The title developed the Krakow branch of the Polish development studio IMGN.pro. The plot of the game based on a real event – the tragedy at Dyatlov Pass. In winter 1959 years a group of nine Russian mountaineers set off on an expedition in the northern part of the Ural mountains. The expedition did not end happily – her body was found on the slope of the participants Cholat Sjakl (mamansyjskiego language “Still Mountain”), near the abandoned camp – most of them died of hypothermia. Striking is the fact that the tent was cut from the inside, as if the climbers had to quickly flee from there in the middle of the night. To this day it is not known the true cause of the tragedy. Kholat offers an open world which player is first-person perspective. The game is based on known diagram of Dear Esther – just walking around the area, we complete pieces of the story together. The game free takes place at night, in the frozen forest, and the way to your destination you need to find yourself. Your including used map and compass, but by the lack of an active pause using them is risky, because diverts attention from what is currently happening on the screen. In no time the player does not take the fight, and the only solution is to escape from the threat. This game incorporates authoring tool called “fear manager”. Its task is to adjust the factors responsible for the atmosphere of horror to the player’s actions. With this solution the player is constantly accompanied by a sense of danger and confusion. Three-dimensional graphics Kholat was based on Unreal Engine 4.
